How good do I need to be to heliski/board? Put simply if you are comfortable skiing or boarding on a blue run at the resort you can go heliskiing! See product descriptions for more details on what packages would be ideally suited to your ability level

 

Can snowboarders also go heliskiing? Absolutely! Around 50% of our clients are snowboarders and all guides are used to guiding groups of snowboarders. Our terrain offers great options for riding and we will try to group boarders and skiers together where possible/necessary

 

How long our the runs? This varies greatly across our different locations from New Zealand to Canada and depends on snow conditions, however in general you can expect around 800m+ of vertical per run

 

How does a heliski day work? Days vary across locations, but a general day will run something like this; pick up from your accommodation around 8am with your ski gear ready to go, drive to the staging area (where the helicopter takes off), first few runs of skiing, delicious on mountain lunch, some more skiing and then fly out back to the staging area, drive back to accommodation for 4-5pm.

 

What should I wear for heliskiing? We generally advise to prepare for a day at the ski area, plus an extra base layer as there can be times where you are waiting for the helicopter etc. Remember warm gloves, goggles and sunscreen!

 

Do I need powder skis? We always recommend to make the most of your day that you hire or bring your own powder skis. Powder skis will increase your enjoyment of the day and are used by all of our guides. We are always happy to assist with selection and hire of powder skis, just make a note with your booking and we will be in touch

 

Do you provide avalanche safety equipment? Yes. Safety is our priority and all clients are provided with avalanche transceiver equipment and training in how to use it effectively. Guides also carry comprehensive safety and first aid equipment

 

Are your daily heliski and freeride packages refundable? Yes all packages are 100% refundable up to 24hrs out from booking. If due to weather or injury your heliski day is no longer able to take place you will also be subject to a 100% refund

 

Can you assist with accommodation and rental equipment? Yes, this is a major part of all of our bespoke packages and can also be easily added on to daily and freeride packages. With work with a fantastic network of local accommodation providers and suppliers to offer you the best options available\
